"In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand and we will understand only what we are taught.”- Babe Dioum
We work with children and teenagers, ages 9 to 17. Through a commitment to place-based learning, we value the importance of connecting younger generations to local environments. We believe that the best way to learn is by developing the awareness that all life is interconnected.
“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.” – Rachel Carson
We design, develop and test interactive technologies for place-based learning in conversation with local communities as a means to explore relevant pedagogical strategies in the context of environmental education. Currently, we are producing a field guide that takes as a departing point the questions posed by children and teens regarding their surrounding environment.
